Västerbotten » Norrbyskär
At Norrbyskär museum, the cultural history of the islands blends with art, crafts and Västerbotten's culinary tradition. The exhibition "Life on Norrbyskär 1892-1952" shows how people lived and worked in the skerries in the days when the biggest sawmill in Europe was in operation. Part of this exhibition is a fantastic scale model of the community in the 1920s, signed in Swedish, English and German. In the museum cafeteria you can have coffee or lunch with a taste of the sea and surrounding islands. Exhibitions are held in the art gallery throughout the summer, while crafts, postcards and brochures are available in the museum shop. On Lilla Norrbyskär, the island milieu of 1920 has been recreated in a 1:3 scale. This educational playground and learning park is appreciated by all children. During the summer our sight-seeing tour departs daily from the ferry berth. Our guides dress in 1920's clothing to tell you the exciting story of the "skerries that were the world".
