The naturum Visitors' Centre in Ammarnäs is the eastern gateway to Vindelfjällen, one of Europe's largest nature reserves at 5500 km2, and Kungsleden hiking trail, the "Royal Trail".

The centre houses an exhibition chock full of easily digestible information, much appreciated by both children and adults. A relief map gives a three dimensional perspective of the nature reserve.

The Royal Trail crosses Vindelfjällen and passes through the village of Ammarnäs. The staff are happy to answer questions before your walk and are up to date with the latest information on roads, bridges, weather and more.

Naturum offers tours of the exhibition, children's activities and summertime excursions. Items on sale include maps, postcards, fishing permits, books and games for nature lovers.
