Stockholm » Tullmuseum
The Customs service in Sweden is so old that it goes back beyond historical records. The first positive evidence of customs duties being paid in Sweden dates from the end of the twelfth century. The museum includes exhibitions dealing with the Little Toll in Stockholm, whose stations we know mainly today through names such as Norrtull, Skanstull, Hornstull, etc., the first Customs in Stockholm and settings built to show Customs places of work from the past. A large section in the museum is taken up by smuggling and the fight against it – from smuggling long ago, mostly of textiles, the alcohol smuggling and on to today’s smuggling of narcotic drugs.
