The Royal Coin Cabinet is a museum which presents the worlds history of money and finance. It is a veritable treasure chest of fascinating objects and interesting stories. Here you can see most of the various means of payment. There are valuable shells from the Pacific Ocean and the world’s first coins from Asia Minor, not to mention the first banknotes in the world, printed in the Old Town in Stockholm. And why not test your strength on the world’s heaviest coin, a hefty piece of almost 20 kilo’s from the copper mine in Falun. Tally Up, children`s department with a real pirate treasure. The museum is located in the centre of Stockholm, on Slottsbacken in the Old Town, opposite the Royal Palace.
