The Maritime Museum & Aquarium
The permanent exhibitions focus on the world of shipping and how this has been significant for Gothenburg and West Sweden. Themes include pirates, life at sea, the Swedish American Line and much more. In our temporary exhibitions and program activities, the present is just as important as the past, as we explore the links between sea, man and shipping.

For many a highlight of the museum – the Aquarium is a place to learn about the marine world and aquatic life. The whole family can experience the inhabitants of native waters and tropical seas, from anemones to seahorses and colourful corals. On Saturdays, children have a chance to get even closer to some of the animals at the Aquarium’s touch pool.
