Astrid Lindgren was born on the farm at Näs more than 100 years ago and many of the places from her childhood are described in her books. You can join a guided tour around her childhood home, which is still intact. You will find it a fantastic experience to enter into Astrid’s unique home and see it as it was when she was a little girl. In the new pavilion at Astrid Lindgren’s Näs you can visit the contemporary exhibition “The whole world’s Astrid Lindgren” that chronicles Astrid’s life and achievements. Please try our audio guides which are available in Swedish, German, English, Danish and Spanish. There is also a special children’s version in Swedish, German and Danish. In the summer of 2012 you can visit the exhibition “Ingrid Vang Nyman – Pippi and a little bit more”. You can meet Pippi Longstocking, the way she looked from the very beginning. The exhibition presents Ingrid Vang Nyman, artist and children’s book illustrator - best known for her illustrations in Astrid Lindgren’s books about Pippi and the Bullerby children. Besides a whole lot of delightful pictures with Pippi and other characters, children and grownups alike would enjoy our, and Pippi’s, enchanting playhouse (the exhibition is showing from June 16th - August 26th 2012). In the Pavilion café you can enjoy an ice cream or cup of coffee, with homemade confectionary. We also serve sandwiches, pies and light lunches. Welcome! |
