Sundbyholms Slott occupies a marvellous setting on the southern shore of Lake Malaren. The castle was built in 1648, and today contains a well-renowned restaurant and banquet halls. All hotel rooms and suites are located in separate historic and modern buildings. The area has one of the most beautiful scenery in Sormland county. The guests can here enjoy a long sand beach, a prize-awarded marina, beautiful parks and fairytale forests. The Castle was built by the Admiral of the Navy Carl Carlsson Gyllenhielm, the son of King Karl IX. Today, the castle offers a relaxing atmosphere for any occasion from company meetings and weddings to private weekends and short breaks. The Castle's restaurant is an invitation to experience the seasonal gastronomic delights of the region. The castle kitchen even has its own garden where different vegetables and herbs are grown. Room information: 49 single rooms, 20 double rooms, 16 minisuites, 12 suites (with jacuzzi), a total of 160 beds. The minisuites are perfect for families and have each two bed rooms and a living room. The suites have either jacuzzi or both jacuzzi and a sauna. Restaurant information: Seating 150, Banquets 250. Restaurant opening times, Mon.-Fri. 18.00-23.00 (kitchen 21.00). Saturday 19.00-24.00 (kitchen 21.00), Most weekdays also open for lunch depending on season. Most Saturdays also open from 13.00 for afternoon tea depending on season. Sundays closed. Prices: Bed and breakfast in a double room from 1595 SEK/night, a single room from 1045 SEK/night. Overnight package with afternoon coffee, a three-course dinner, accomodation in a double room and breakfast ranges from 1295 SEK/person.
