Very Welcome to Hotel Skansen The green embankments, surrounding our park are the remains of a fortress, Färjestadens Skans. You are indeed in "the middle of history”, here at Hotel Skansen. The fortress is from the early 1600´s and was then called "Kråkeskärs Skans". It probably played an important part at the time of the Danish invasion 1611. Around 1700 a district-courthouse was constructed inside the fortress. The buildings you see today were built 1811, and while they originally served as a courthouse, they have since 1901 been a hotel. We will do our very best to make your stay comfortable and joyful.
