Naturum visitors' centre at Färnebofjärden - the gateway to Färnebofjärden National Park
Färnebofjärden National Park, part of the lower reaches of the Dalälven River, is a mosaic of unique habitats such as salt marshes, water meadows, floodplains and ancient forest. The periodic flooding has had a strong impact on the national park and the lobate river delta surrounding more than 200 islands and islets. The park is famous for its rich birdlife, and has been a popular place for ornithologists to visit since the 1970s.

Adjacent to the national park, in the historic setting of the Gysinge Bruk ironworks, the naturum visitors' centre is an inspiring gateway to Färnebofjärden. Inside the centre is an exhibition where you can learn more about the national park. You can also visit "Mr Beaver" in his lodge, see films about the park and listen to woodpeckers. Knowledgeable staff are on hand, happy to share tips on tourist attractions in the park. In addition to the discoveries inside the visitors' centre, we offer a range of activities for both children and adults. Come along on a beaver safari, join a guided boat tour in the park, or how about a bat-watching evening?
